Laptops are not necessary but they are welcome, and might come in handy. The Gleacher Center assures us that there will be sufficient wi-fi access for all.

Details

It’s a non-smoking event. Sorry, smokers! Still photography is permitted, but audio and video recording are forbidden. Sorry, recordists and videographers! As always, please be considerate when taking pictures.

Flickr Group

We’ve established a Flickr group for those of you who want to share your photos with the world: Flickr: An Event Apart: Chicago 2006.

Food

Catering begins at 8:00am with fruit kabobs, coffee, and tea, and will continue ‘til the end of the day. Coffee, soft drinks, and energy-providing snacks will be available as the day progresses.

For lunch, we’ll be enjoying a wonderful menu that should satisfy both vegetarians and omnivores. The main event is a buffet selection of the following:

As if that weren’t enough, the above feast will be accompanied by fresh baked breads and flat breads, a dessert assortment, and fresh sliced seasonal fruits. Our biggest concern is that you’ll all be too full to stay awake in the afternoon!

Disclaimer

Please note that the schedule is subject to change, and that some things are not entirely within our control. We’ll do our best to make the experience live up to what we’ve mentioned here, but cannot absolutely guarantee a perfect 1:1 correspondence. We thank you in advance for your understanding of any changes we may be forced to make.
